well the build is coming along I was reading a lot on McKinney stuff. I not shooting for like over 450. What drive shaft and motor mounts and transmission mounts are you guys using? YOu think its worth the 1110 dollars. For the rb25?

I'm using the R33 crossmember with hokey puck isolators...the engine sits really low and I love it! I even managed to keep my front swap bar. I did have to get a custom driveshaft though but everything else bolted right up.

The motor mount points for s chassis motors and r chassis motors are at different angles, hence the use of an r33 cross member.

The reason I am leaving the R33 cross member in my car is because my engine sits lower and further back in the engine bay than anything anyone has designed thus far. Even Top Hat mounts with hockey pucks don't sit this low....granted I am going to be making a skid plate just in fear of me busting my oil pan but hey..the lower the better and the further back the better.

Look at it this way...my RB25 fits in my Kouki with the stock intake manifold and all with room to spare...it sits lower than the top of the radiator, not the fill cap but the top...this s*** is low and I love it.

Two basic questions:
"Do you know how to fabricate"? And
"Do you want to use a pre-determined mounting location vs DIY"?

The McKinney kit *IS* really nice if you are on a time constraint or want a drop-in or turnkey solution. It *is* pricey too, but Mack is a pretty cool dude and actually DOES stand behind his products, kit is made in the US (So Cal), occasionally posts here in the forum, and is a SPONSOR.

(although, if you are ordering the McKinney setup, order from Ricky (Coolwhip) / RawBrokerage - I personally know him and he has been a good asset to the RB enthusiast community as well as a Nico Club sponsor, and Premiere sponsor of the RB Tail of The Dragon meets ;-) )
