hmmm...I guess a cheap jack wont work? I have one of those $20 ones from the auto parts store.cyrus240sx wrote:from what i believe all you have to do is put a jack under the engine on the oil pan on a piece of wood, unbold the mounts, raise up the engine, swap to new mounts, drop it down and tighten it all up....
It was 1:38 in the morning yeah I'm not the best at grammar. After you do the front mounts and have the car on a lift or jackstands. Support the trans and raise it up a little. Unbolt the rear trans cross member, should be 4 decent sized bolts. Then unbolt the mount from the motor, should be 2 12mm bolts. Put the new one back in place bolt everything back on and you should be set.Neejay wrote:hmmm...I guess a cheap jack wont work? I have one of those $20 ones from the auto parts store.
and also, what about the transmission mount? Or if I only do the motor mounts, if I jack up the engine, isnt the transmission bolted to the frame too? I dont really understand how the mounts work.
