I was trying to wait until I did a swap of some sort before upgrading/replacing my motor mounts, but honestly they scare me. I can move my motor side to side with one hand.

I wanted to be sure that my motor was gonna be worth buying new motor mounts. What labor price should I expect to pay?

What are the disadvantages to having bad mounts besides a shakey car?

you would pay about $110 to get them installed plus the mounts.

Has anyone seen about machining aluminum transmission and motormounts?

I've seen them "for track use only" application on E36 M3's. They'll force the chassis to take more abuse but the engine and transmission may actually be able to sit lower in the car.
