Not sure on this one guys.

The other day, my tach fluttered (jumped really quickly from the 1800RPM I was cruising at to like 2k, then to 1k, the back and forth like 4-5 times) then the motor just shut off. No warning. No sputtering. Nothing. Just dies. It immediately cranked back up and no other issues.

Tonight, I left work and went a block to Taco Bell for dinner. I pull into the drive thru line, and it dies. Ran fine from start up and for the block. But as soon as I am stopped, it died. I cranked it, it started, then immediately died again. Did this two more times before it would stay running. The third time before it died, I could keep it running with the throttle, but as soon as I let off, it died. After the third crank, it ran fine. Perfect actually.

Once I got it running for good, I pulled out of line and popped the hood. All sensors were connected. No gas smell. Nothing odd. On the way home, boosted awesome and ran like a top. The odd thing is, it just fell dead. No sputter. Nothing. It shut off faster than if I had turned the key off. It seems to only have done this when cold, but I can't see any duplicatable circumstances to cause this. Any input is appreciated. Thanks guys.

On a side note: It has been a little backfirey lately, and sometimes the starter seems to stick. All this has been happening after I redid the harness. It ran great for a month after the rewire (actually better than ever), but now it seems to be a little off from time to time. I am 99% sure that I have a crap injector, and my new ROM will be here tomorrow to control my new 450s that are ready to go in.

Anyone think it is my ignitor? Since it just dies, it seems like an ignition issue. I may just pick one up from the jyard for fun. $20 ain't bad, even to have a spare.

BTW, this morning all was hella well. Rained just before I got up, and my RT-615s are killer no-grip fun in the rain.

Beware of the crank angle sensor, it's connector, or a bad tooth inside the camshaft. Also, make sure no moisture has gotten into your ecu. As for the ignitor, just worry about the connector for now.

RT615s in the rain = win. Absolutely anything will induce a tail-happy driving experience. As for your problem, no freaking clue.

CAS, hunh Dee? Well, I will go pilfer one off the Pulsar in the jyard local. Thanks buddy. I'll test it when I have the time and I'll get back to ya.

BTW, weather permitting, I am putting those 450s in tomorrow. My ROM just arrived, so I can't wait!

Ok, update. I was poking around the other day after a misfire (the tach went to zero, then in an instant, was back at my previous RPM. There was also a misfire and flame pop), and I found that my ECU was not mounted tight. I remounted it, and since, I have had no issues. Makes no sense to me, but seems to have cured it.

Yeah, i was going to say check your ecu but i see you already got it. My car did this except the rpm would jump to like 4k and then down to 1k and then shut off. I unfortunately had a bad ecu, swapped out the ecu and have been fine since.
