Ok, im new to the ca world and am pretty lost. Just got my car back from getting a head gasket put in, It is Chucking gas rich smoke and is running like crap(wont idle, almost like running off 3 cyl.) all coils are getting spark, pulled the plugs, first was gas soaked, and clean, rest were black. but that coil is getting spark. also on the back of the motor, there are two half circle areas near the valve cover, and when i got it back, the plugs are gone, and it leaks/blows oil from there. WTF! anyways, could misfiring be timing? sorry for dumb questions, but am lost and think i just got screwed by mechanics.

Take the car back to them and point out that the rear valve cover half moon seals are missing, and your other problems.

waited 4 mounths for stupid stuff. It takes them forever to do anything. Im thinking court... their ****ing me around hardcore. But dont wanna have to take my car back there. To put those seals back in, just take off the valve cover(s)?

Also, it was a fresh swap, the car wasnt running correct to begin with, but this is a lil rediculus.

I would try and do something about it....legally or otherwise. Speak to the shop about it, let them know how you feel and see what they are willing to do about it.

Do you have any other enthusiasts in the area with the same motor as you?

Well, i finally got a little bit of time, all 4 coils are firing, but when its running, the first and 4th coils being removed makes little to no difference in how it runs, the 2nd and 3rd will shut the car off. When i got the car back, the bolts to the CAS were finger loose, could the way its running be timing? These people seem to have done nothing, so it wouldnt surprise me if the f-ed the timing up. Also, i have what seems to be a 5th clip for a fuel injector thats not goin anywhere...? wtf? I did see a ca18 at hyperfest though, made me pretty happy that there was 1 at the event. Im going to have a talk with the shop. BTW. the shop is called 1320 motoring in hagerstown maryland.
