I just did one of those envirolution flushes today.

At a Toyota dealer, I guess they have the machine cuz the Toytota V6's are known for sludge problems. They refilled it with Valvoline Durablend, which a step up from the ususal dealer fill I thought.:thumbupToo bad they did it with that thin 5w-30 viscosity:mad:

Anyway, It didnt do anything for my varnish but I then they dont advertise it working on anything but sludge, and sludge is really the real problem.

varnish you can always take care of by adding Seafoam to your crank case (this is also safe).

If you get a hold of Tom Makin at Envirolution tell him hi from me.And be sure to tell him you are from this club (no we dont get kickbacks, but eventually, I think they will give us deals, he already said something like that)

We had a sludged up 96 Q [130k oil light on we fainted when we saw the interior of valve covers solid black inches thick] after multiple applications of every chemical combination known to man and 13 oil changes in 3,000 miles including 6 pan drops and clean out the car was retired..........tech bought it for $1500 traded in for $3,000 credit against a pickup. Probably spent 60 hours time trying to save it!

The original owner though annual oil changes were ok say once every....average 18,500 miles obviously didn't work long ---well 7 years with dealer oil.

In the grand scheme of things he probably lost $7,000-$8,000 in value but it didn't seem to phase him [wealthy and too busy to get the Q serviced........hopefully he made an extra $2,000 per year in the time he saved..........even if he got 2-3 oil changes per year the problem would not have happened...........if it took 3 hours for a $30 oil change very few of us make $666/333 an hour even $150 an hour.

He knew he screwed up and felt guilty at the end.

What should someone expect to pay for this service? Do all Toyota dealers have this machine, or should I call the 800 number on the web site to find someone near me...

They charged me $130 which included an oil change at teh end.Tom Mackin (fom the manufacturer) overnighted me some Adapters he felt they might need for my VH45DE.In the end the dealer siad his own adaptos worked fine.If anyone gets a flush I can send these to you to make sure you have them if needed.

I am pretty sure not all of them do, only the real large ones.

there is more than one Toyota dealer in this town but only oxmoor toyota, had the machine (very large service dept, seems well run, but they didn't start the flush immedtialy after arrival, as promised via phone, and even shut engine off with the pre detergent in it circulating.Used GM top engine cleaner as pre-detergent.Wouldnt let me watch either, to see how much sludge , if any was in my engine. Then service advisor said on the service form:" I need all excellents on that, if you want, we will fill it out for you and mail it too")
