KA24E motor:

Looking for: More things to check, methods to use, urls that help, info....

Problem:Im running normally and all of sudden *poof* Motor dies (no acceleration) *poof* back to 2000 rpms *poof* dead again almost 200rpm and does this a couple of times, luckly it started running normally again after 1 min of suffering

at idle im getting 500rpm.... at N gear getting 1000, P gear 1000, D gear.... well 500 as i said. (sometimes... the car stays revving high.... 2k almost, not delivering acceleration only revving, if i push it further it gives power... but its weird...)

If i floor the car.... at 4000 rpms or so, the car starts lossing power and losses all power and acceleration, lots of fuel smell when this happens, and gets kindda hot inside the cockpit, (maybe because i have a holed up exhaust and... hmmmm a hole on the floor... near the exhaust lol )

sometimes when braking to 0 it dies but starts up ok

What im gonna do:hmmm ive been reading a lot, the Bogging sticky thread refers to many things that i will be checking out for problems tomorrow:

-Grounding its goodVacuum not that i know of, but will be checked tomorrow-Exhuast gases NOPE-Ignition its GOOOODCar Computer: Tomorrow.... this is gonna be troublesome :P- MAF/Throttle body/IACV tube ooookkk whats this? where? how?-Timing: now this got serious i wont be touching this part....

Ordered some Seafoam getting it next week

replace your O2 sensor. quick and cheap, causes a lot of idling rpm issues if its bad.if it's an automatic...a wearing transmission can drag down the engine...do you notice a whine from the engine when it drops, like it's fighting a load? also possible that the transmission slips and motor suddenly loses the load its under. throw a bottle of lucas transmission treatment in if this is the case, best thing ive found to keep an old automatic running.replace the air filter. takes 2 minutes and its an $8 part. airflow issues can cause minor engine power fluxuations, but never seen it this serious.
