Does anyone have any idea idea on how many CFM the stock fan pulls or pushes? Also has anyone done this? I know it makes the engine bay look alot emptier with the fans shround and fan taken out and of course the beneficial loss of some rotating weight. I was thinking of using Flex-A-Lite fans but don't know what to base my info on. Thanks

Ok, I asked a question no one else has asked. I don't wanna get one that is super huge and not have it fit. Second I don't want to get one if it isn't going to push or pull enough air. And I did search and no posts has any info on how much CFM the stock engine pushes/pulls.

The Flex-A-Lite dual 10" combo is a good fit for the S-chassis radiator...about $200 from Jegs. And it will push enought to keep things cool.

The stock A/C fan is good enough if you wire the relay(s) to high speed (always on), unless it's +100 F where you live...mine only runs higher than 195 F with the A/C on, with ~250rwhp.

Here's a nice set from Summit http://store.summitracing.com/...=ecat

Think its the same one that Brian suggested but sold by a better company...heh. Summit used to sponsor a friend of mine, plus they're delivery has always been quicker.

nearly (if not) all newer cars use dual electric fan setups... that should say something.

I've had the flex-alite dual 12" fans in my 97 240 for a little less than a year now... it's now summer and it's held up pretty well under the hot afternoon weather in bumper to bumper traffic.

If you do get the fans, get one that comes with a thermostat kit to control your fans. Makes life a lot simplier.

95SE240sx -

Get the one with the A/C relay and the adj. thermostat - You don't want them on all the time...see below:

2 10 inch fans have an area of 157 square inches, one 16 inch fan has an area of 201 square inches (area of a circle is PIE*R^2). I'm going for the 16 inch single fan with 2950 cfm capacity on Summit Racing, it should be more than enough, although somewhat loud. Hooking it up to the ignition, so it turns on when you turnon the car will work just fine. My friend with a 2nd gen RX-7 is running a 15 inch at 2800 cfm, and it's not as loud as you'd think.

What do you guys think?

No shroud (I can make one, doesn't seem too hard to modify the stock one, or make one like it) b ut 2950 cfm, should cool the living crud out of most engines, no? Wire in a switch so that it doesn't go off with ignition in the winter until car is warmed up, should be all good, right?

For those on a tight budget, I heard that you can use the altima's twin fan setup. Find a decent one from a junkyard and you're ready to go.

I use a discount auto 40 dollar 15 inch fan that’s been on my car for a long time. I also use a 30 dollar 12 inch pusher fan to cool my condenser. One pulls and the other pushes I also use a 12 dollar adjustable relay with probe. :thinker

from reading what everyone has said i got the single fan from summit.

i will connect it to the ignition wire then relay a switch in to it, that way i wont kill my battery if i accidently leave it on. anothor reason for this is if its a cold day out i can just turn off the fan completely. everyone get this? pros/cons?
