Had my engine tore apart today. From driving 5miles with 2 injectors leaking it caused 3 bearings to be shot.#1 cylinder was the one knocking. Luckily crankshaft is fine. On the head one of the cam journals started to wear but not severe. Was only on my exhaust cam that this started.Current rebuild: Crower v2 cams CP piston 9.0cpr Cosmetic HG Clevite bearing Everything else stock

Going to boost 15psi daily and then add some lbs here and there Car is weekend driver mostly.......

Bah, go for the gold! Get some crower connecting rods in there man...15 psi on stock rods that are high mile is a lot of stress to handle...and oh so little block to rod clearance...(my fully built engine blew at 16 psi from a small t3)

If you dont have enough money for both the crower rods and cams, then ditch the cams....the cams have nothing to do with the longevity of the motor like connecting rods do...Not to mention, if you get cams, you'll want to get larger intake/exhaust valves, and at least a 3 angle valve job if you want to completely maximize the higher lift/longer duration than the stock units. And after you do all that, may as well change out the valve springs and retainers too...

It adds up...rods should take precedence over cams.

please listen to mark. if you are going to rebuild with forged pistons get some aftermarket rods pleas. dont waste your time. a good tune on a stock block will hold as good on a built motor with stock rods

I may still get rods. But wanting to be another test subject. I'll busy working on other things right now.So I might end up getting them. But I fell like they should be alright. I've been on here long enough to make my own educated guess.Read about fiz, and read abotu countless others. But my max HP on this engine is 350. With no urge to go more. Guess we'll find out what happens in a month or two.....

Wow, that's some crazy sh*t happening there and I feel your pain, that's going to take some $$$ to fix. Your say that 2 of your injectors were leaking for five miles and that caused enough raw gas to get into your oil and dilute it to cause bearing failure? You're lucky the whole motor didn't explode - you must have fire hose size nozzle injectors to cause that amount of dilution, not to mention you could have only been running on two cylinders with that kind of A/F ratio. Come on, tell us the real reason for the wiped bearings and what problems/noise you experienced before this failure.
