I recently purchased a turbo kit for my ka24e motor. It was great, except a ring or a valve guide decided to give out after about a day at only 2psi. The motor only had like 105k miles on it too...

Anyways, I taked to someone at arias and he is giving me a great price on a piston/ring set. He also told me that the Ka24e and Ka24de pistons are the same.. is that true?

Finally, i was wondering if anyone knows where i can get some good rods for cheap. I don't really have too much to spend...

if anyone is in socal do you know where i can have the pistons installed? They are 20 over...

Buy some Pauter rods from KA24DE.com (look left) they are a little more expensive than some other rods but they are waaaaay better and you will need them, cuz take my advice boost is an addictive substance, and your needs will climb as your tolerance builds. So go ahead and get some nice ones so will be able to run 30psi when the need comes :)

Hey is there here in Cali that can port a KA head competently ?

There is someone in michigan that will send me out a ported/polished head with a valve grind for around $800. Seems like a good buy to me......

I think Rebello Racing is in Cali and they have done a lot of stuff with KA's.

A LOT of misinformation here. First, SOHC and DOHC pistons are VASTLY different, if you put SOHC pistons in a DOHC you'll get a very turbo-unfriendly 11.0/1 compression ratio (I may be off by .5, but it's still high), and vice versa with DOHC pistons into an SOHC. Rods really are quite unecessary as they come forged from the factory and the cases of KA's bending the stock rods are extraordinarily few and far between. Arias pistons are a great choice, I also like Wiseco and JE. Spirolox rings have also been proven very reliable on a KA. $800 sounds very high for a port/polish and valve job, every one I've done has run right around $450-$500, maybe a head rebuild with new valve guides, etc, for $800.......If you don't have much money to spend ditch the head-work and rods and get some REALLY FREAKIN GOOD FUEL MANAGEMENT. It's going to get you a LOT further than anything else. Good fuel is the key.........

I think the actual head is included in the 800, in which case its not too bad of a price, a used (good cond) stock head goes for around 300~

yeah... the head is included. I am probably going to get some 440 injectors if some stuff works out for me, if not unstable-hybrids offered me a custom fuel rail with msd 50# injectors for $450... so im going to run some kind of good injectors with a fmu, tomei fuel pump, and a safc... so i should be fine for fuel. As far as the pistons, i am almost definately going with the arias ones and whatever rings they come with. I have no clue if i want rods yet, but i think that they would be a good idea as i am planning to boost 10 daily, and the occasional 15-17 once in a while. I have been looking for ANYONE that knows how to get arp head studs for the ka24e, but i haven't been able to find a single person. If anyone knows... PLEASE tell me.

You dont need ARP headstuds, those are for like 25psi+, plus they are a ***** to get out if ever need to. Just get NEW OEM ones.

Tomei FP? Talk about overpriced, just go with a Walbro 255lph, its like 1/3 the cost. Unless you already have it...then nm.
