so i went to my friends shop today to tear down my ka24de to start getting things rolling. i got the engine from a local junkard for $200, complete longblock, when i got the motor i was told that the car was was junked because it wouldnt start due to a "timing issue" and a "mechanic" who worked at Advance Auto Parts part time was trying to get it running but the car got towed because it was abandoned in front of the store, i cleaned it pretty good, took off all the accessories, oil pan, valve cover, and upper timing cover, i was working on getting the tensioners loose and after the uper one came loose i noticed this......i think i found the "timing issue", haha hey look a cam sproketoh.....that sucks

now i gotta decide on which cams i want to go with, i already know im gonna get new valves, stock specs, and new springs and retainers, not sure what brand yet, time to start researching cam specs and results.....maybe a custom grind

You should look into Brian Crower for your cams, very good quality and best price i've seen. they perform incredably good. i have them on my SR for almost a year now and have not had any problems.

ive looked a little at BC's stuff, there are some really mixed rviews, money isnt really an object, this is a long term project, im not by any means rich, im scrapping by now(paying for my wedding), but i want the best, in my views, for my goals, im gonna look into Kelford, BC, Jim Wolf, and some custom grinds

Haha that seems to be quite a timing issue. ka-t.org is a great resource, I like where your head's at.
