I have my 240sx for a few years now, about 5 actually and it spends months in a garage at a time, mostly because of paper work or problems i can't get around to fix at the moment. everytime i get it back and running with more mods it's always a great feeling. the time i spend away from the car makes me want to move on. i just got my License as an RN and need a car to go to work that i can concider "reliable." my other "beater" car, a dodge stratus lol (yea i know, ugly as hell) recently got impounded and it was cheaper to walk away from it and give in the title then actually insure, reg, inspec, bla bla bla. anyhow, not to yap about my life story but i think i have to get into another car to commute/ for my family and am disappointed i can't put the money into my 240 and get it back on the road...i'm kinda down and would like to know if anyone has a similar history with their car or has some words of motivation to prevent giving up on the car all together. thanks nIcO.

If there is one thing that every 240 owner learns at one time or another...it's that these cars are nothing more than a money pit that we obsess over....

Right now, it sounds like things aren't going all your way with your car, but I'm sure as your life progresses, so will your car...it may be frustrating right now that you can't enjoy the feeling of driving around in your car...but when you get it up and running again...I guarantee you will feel all those familiar feelings once again....

So just be patient...keep doing what your doing...and in the meantime..you can do what most of us do when we cant drive it....stare at that car and imagine what it's going to be like when it's all said and done

by a honda...

drive the piss outta it,

rebuild the 240

or sell it for way more than its worth...

im sorta a a crossroads as well; ive come to the realization that ill probably have to put my baby under the knife for 6 months to a year; a necessary evil to repair my rust issues and get her back to mint condition

Just so i don't write a long *** story that people will end up disliking me for. My advice to you would be to.

Keep the 240 in the garage.Buy a honda to daily drive, no matter what people say they ARE reliable. Maybe a 4dr newer civic because you said u had a family.Don't put any money into the 240 till you are back to balanced financial status.PUT FAMILY first which I bet you already do.But if things were to get down to where you HAD to sell your 240, sell it as is, get as much out of it as you can, and remember you will always be a Niconaught. You will always be welcome here.Life sucks and is very unfair at times but as long as you keep your head high. You WILL get through its challenges, I promise ( though who am I? ).

Now go hug your wife and kids and enjoy the holidays. Life happens one day at a time, keep it that way ( of course some things need advanced planning but you know what i mean ).

"Live for what you love, Upon death said love will keep living"

You ever need to vent, Ghasty has 2 ears one of which works very well and hes always willing to use it ( or eyes too haha ).

Love Life Man!

One Love,

Ghasty

Park in the garage and wait. That is the key wait. I have a '90 s13 that i have not touched since i bought it. I drive bone stock. I have a '91 s13 in the garage that i have not drove in a year. I use to start it up every once in awhile let it run, sometimes sneaking out late at night for quick run down the highway. You have to love the coutry, even though i am only 30min from dallas. I sometimes go out and just sit in it and shift gears. It's not going to hurt just sitting there. This is considering you work on your car, if not sale it to a friend so you can still drive it every once in awhile. Labor cost will kill you if you pay someone else to do it.
