After searching and searching. We need a similar stickied thread about the G50's suspension. We have one for the Vh45motor.

We need a section on the Active, what to replace, what goes wrong, symptoms, who to contact, what to test.... etc....

We need a section on the regular ones, what bushings to replace, what can be swapped out with a z32 (upper links? camber parts, etccc....), Aftermkaret z32 products that can work, srtut, Coilover options. Sway Bars from the A, T models to use on the regular non Active/Touring models, What Strut tower bars work.... etc... Energy suspension (what swaps in etc.) What commonly goes wrong (upper links), etc..

I move for a motion that a tread be created, and sticked along with sticking the Vh45 motor thread

Great idea. A good starting point would be a thread by Wes (elwesso) that has the word suspension in it. We'll add it to the to-do list

hehehe. Hopefully its not too far down on the to-do list.

Is there a Z32 Upper link replacement on the front?

My front passenger is super cambered in, and squeaking badly. Supposedly upper link is worn. Im trying to figure out what suspension bushings can be replaced using Energy Suspension. I want to tighten things up quite a bit.

Energy Suspension has a listing for 300zx stuff....Not sure what can fit over. Any light on what bushings from a 300zx will directly carry over? Or if i can use 300zx suspension parts, can I then use energy bushings?

What parts from the 300zx/z32 change over?

*sigh*, im going to wear out the server, using search.

Well, it definatly is, except I was searching for more specific items, like "bushings", "energy suspension" etc... also.....

Searching under "suspension" in active/archived threads, to me would see to have too many generic responses. So i didnt search that term YET. Im just wasting time at work.

IMO, general stickies are necessary, for convience sakes, newbie help, and helping avoid redundant questions.

Some things are just necessary to have at the top of the forum. Also people may subscribe to it, instead of subscribing to 9 different suspension threads.

And it helps to know that a particular user posted with that specifically in the title .

I should have been clearer in my first response.

Well SOMEONE is being lazy and isnt searching enough!!! just because you have a NICO members Q doesnt mean youll get special treatment!!!

Anywho.... If your specifically talking about upper links and you just want to replace those, id only replace with OEM or with a midori style upper arm from SPL or something similar....

When talking Z32, there are 2 types of arms... The OEM type (includes stillen) and the midori type. there may be more, but i dont care about those.... The OEM is a simple dogbone style... The OEM is not adjustable. The stillen ones use poly bushings that can be greased and replaced. HOwever, they cannot be as finely tuned as the midori style can. They have like 4-5-6 "notches" that you can chose from and thats what your stuck with. The midori can be fine tuned perfectly.. They are opposite threaded on each side... So basically you loosen these collars to lock in the alignment, and then twist them... that will push each end of the link farther away or bring them closer together... it is very probable that with high miles that the drivers side may need less camber correction to get to OEM spec than the passenger side... You can get a perfect alignment with these puppies, thats what makes them choice. They may be slightly harsher, but i dont notice much difference... They use bearings instead of bushings.. If you go with the midori style, YOU MUST USE A SOLID ADJUSTABLE TENSION ROD otherwise the bearings will wear out.

Again, i never recommend anything that I wouldnt/havent do/done..... so if you dont want to give up ride smoothness, go with OEM.. IF you want the best but will sacrifice some smoothness, then go with what I said..

To give you a short answer, all the Z32 links will change over.... That being all the rear suspension links (so long as their adjustable), the front links (uppers, lowers, tension rods, etc) will go over... The shocks and springs are different.....

Now use that little red button next time!!!

I did see the SPL ones, there are some on e-bay, that are not SPL branded, however look exactly the same for about 200+.......

I do perefer the SPL type, since they run on bearings rather than bushings. The car is heavy enough, I definatly apprecate the extra prescision to haul this boat around.

Normally I wouldn't buy prescision performance parts from ebay...since theres crap floating around... but Wes can you confirm? the SPL ones dont look like theyre some top secret branded part.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1

Could they be from the same distrbutor? They look identical, "JDM parts"

what ya think? They come it at about 240 Shipped.

I've been tempted by the ebay ones myself.

I think they are made in Taiwan, though.

I would NOT use ebay for the tension rods. The t-rods absorb ALL of the car's braking loads (albeit in tension) and a failure would be catastrophic.

Look for powertrix parts on http://www.twinturbo.net

As good as SPL for a bit cheaper.

Dont cheap out with suspension links. the uppers take a lot of load in cornering and the tension rods take a lot of load in braking like Robert said...

I got my stuff used (very lightly) from guys off twin turbo.net.
