I was looking around on tirerack.com and came across these rims (18"x8" 19lbs Motegi's), it's finish is said to be hyper black but to me they look more gun metal or high gloss silver then black. Has anyone ever seen these rims in person or seen the finish refered to as hyper black and if so can you tell me if hyper black is in fact black, because personally and no offense to anyone here but I do not like black rims (different strokes for different folks). If someone can input I'd appreciate; here's the link.http://www.tirerack.com/wheels...eight

afaik hyper black is usually a very polished black, it almost looks like a black chrome color.

Thanks for the definition (what does afaik mean); in the picture it just didn't look black to me, so I was a little confused. Also another question I meant to ask on my first post is does anyone know the weight of our 17" OEM 3.5SE rims; I’ve be searching the net and NICO for it, and have had no luck. I learned the hard way from a set of Chrome and I think they were Motegi wheels too that a heavy wheel is not a good thing, so I'm thinking lighter weight (lesser or equal to my OEM wheels), this time around.

AFAIK is as far as I know.

It looks like a black chrome to me.

x2c4me's charcoal grey sedan, am I looking at the right car? Serious question here absolutely sarcasm at all, but those wheels do not look black to me what so ever, am I color blind or are they silver? they look more silver on that sedan then on tirerack's site. they're a good looking rim and I like that they only weight 19lbs, but for me if they are black then they are not for me.

do a google image search, and you'll find a car or two with them. there's a blue civic that explicitly says on that forum they are hyper black, and the color looks exactly the same as the sedan in the link.

HyperBlack does not appear black nor does it appear like black chrome (black chrome looks like chrome with a smoke tint). Actual finish my vary among manufacturers but hyper Black is a grey color like charcoal or gunmetal. Check out http://www.TSW.com for an example of hyperblack.

This close up of my wheel is an example of hyper black. The close up of my grille (except for emblem which is regular chrome) is an example of black chrome.
