From the Sunglasses Holder section:

Do not leave sunglasses in the sunglasses holder while parking in direct sunlight.

---

Why even bother with it, then? Any other other sections that made you laugh? Anybody read the manual?

No kidding. I ended up using the storage bin above the stereo to put mine in during the summer.

When I first got mine I put an ID badge in there in the middle of the day and left it overnight. When I went to get it the next day it was all warped and had to get a new one. Kinda defeats the purpose if you ask me.

I like the section for towing. Where the lawyers and guys in the warranty department clearly removed the towing rating. The font isn't the same as the rest of the manual. In the rest of the world, the same chassi and drivetrain is rated for 500kg's, 1000kg's with trailer brakes. It should have been given a 1000lb rating. I have a motorcycle that I tow. Almost all other cars in it's class offer at least 1000lbs capactiy.

My question is this:

If you are parking in direct sunlight, then obviously it's very sunny outside. If it's very sunny outside, why not wear your sunglasses instead of leaving them in the car? It would be much easier on your eyes to do so.

Personally, it's because of my tendancy to leave things places. It would take me less than 24 hours to lose them if they left my car. It's also not as critical for me to see clearly outside the vehicle as it is inside, since I drive so much.

That's also why I had the windows in my V tinted.

Most rediculous line in an owners manual has to be the manual from my 1987 VW GTI, where it mentions you must never allow the car to idle for it may overheat, and not to use the AC in traffic when it's hot outside... "Klaus, zis cah ovaheet, vat ve shal do?" I know, make up for the design shortcomings by telling the owners it's normal for the car to pop a radiator every once in a while... yeah!
