I looked at 98% of the J30s on CarDomain. The majority of them are either stock, or have large rims, sound systems, etc. I wonder why those mods are the most popular? & what makes the J so good for aftermarket stereos when it comes with a Bose/Clarion from the factory?

I'm not getting rims; too ghetto for my taste. But I would like to have a good stereo system, lights, & some engine mods.

The (almost) complete lack of aftermarket supposrt probably has a lot to do with it. You can put a stereo in anything, and the Bose, despite it's name, blows. There are some ok looking wheels around. Get on tirerack and check some out on Js. 17s look a lot nicer than 15s, that's for sure.

You should post pics of the tails lit up, big guy. I'd like to see them, and I know a few others would too.

pop charger might be the most commonbut many experts (Q45TECH) are actually against pop charger for many reasons.one majot reason = bad filtration (shorter engine life)

there are NO body mods for the J...the only thing is in Japan they come with a front lip...thats it...if you want a body mod it would have to be custom

j-30 green machine, you have to post pix on the center thing on between the tail lights. ive attempted that mod, but i really botched it up. i wanna see it done properly. also, how do you have it wired up?? to work with your brake lights, or the 3rd brake light. did you use leds, or regular bulbs??

not trying to pick a fight start off by making enemies or anything but i dont see your logic behind having aftermarket wheels being ghetto.Since when does having anything percieved buy the owner to nice or cool to him or her be it out landishly large or outlandishly lound have to be classified as ghetto.Just say you dont care for it or not your taste.Since when has the word "ghetto" been associated with non ghetto things i.e. Rims bodykits loud stereo's.those are for everyone to hate or love.Like i said before im not trying to start a fight or make enemies.I just need to understand logic behind thing.and im not offended at all dont get me wrong

Dang...I go on hiatus & this happens... *lol*

When I say that rims are too ghetto for my taste, I meant the ones that are oversized & chrome. I guess I should have specified that. I mean, come on...imagine a J30 sitting on 24" spinners or larger size of chrome rims...pretty hideous if you ask me. But if another person digs it, then that's them. But large chrome rims are largely associated with the "thug life," drug dealing, pimping, etc., especially here in Alabama. Just like dropping a fart can & a huge spoiler on a Honda Civic is considered "rice" & "boy racer."

I've actually seen some Js with 18" chrome or 18" OEMs from a G35. Those actually look nice to me. Then again, that's just my HO (humble opinion).

As far as the stereo goes, I don't care how loud it is. Just don't blast it in front of my house when I'm trying to sleep or study. *lol*

What made me start this thread is the fact that I used to go on CarDomain a lot (before I got super busy in my life) to look @ the J30s & get some ideas on how to do mine when I buy it. But when I see the same old stuff, it turns me off. If I want oversized chrome that bad, all I have to do is get my cousin's '94 Chevy Impala SS or just slap some chrome on my Civic. When I work on the J, I want it to be different; something to remember. That's all I was implying. I didn't mean to step on anyone's toes. But no offense taken; I appreciate your input.

The Factory head unit with new Bose speakers and up to spec amps will knock the windows out !!!

Everybody that knocks the OEM system simply had worn down speaks or amps.

My 2 centavo's

Trying to get a 10+ year old speaker to perform is short bus fodder hehe

I had all new Bose speaks for a few months before my Head unit puked and it was awesome.

Ans yes Ive heard competition systems.
