Depends what 'cheap' is. Of course all of the breather upgrades would help. And thats a good place to start. Can be really cheap if you can fabricate the parts yourself.

Dont know about "cheap".... But some lower dollar things cant hurt...

Altima cams are what $40 a set from a junk yard? Thats pretty cheap for a slightly better cam. (if you install yourself)

Timing advance of an extra 5 degrees BTDC... free in parts, and free if you do it yourself.

If you have a DE motor, SOHC pistons can up compression. But we are quickly moving past the range of 'cheap'.

Full exhaust is relatively cheap, but gains are nothing amazing. Same thing w/ intake, although thats a bit cheaper.

Beyond that, start thinking about removing rotational mass from the drive line. Flywheel, drive shaft, under drive pulleys, electric over clutch fans... etc.

But really the cheapest way to make HP would be the old NOS trick, but in all seriousness... NOS is for pushrods.

I bought an AEM SRI and its about a 5hp difference. I cant really feel it but it sounds better. Im thinking about installing headers myself. How long does the average install take? are HotShot headers a good brand?

Hot shot is out of business. Yor best bet i sthe DC sports header which will add 9HP to the wheels.I would honestly go with a header or electric fan set up.

Or if you want to properlly advance the crap out of your timing (past 30BTDC) on your KA you could get an SAFC and a wideband to readjust A/R ratio as the timing is advanced (thats the only way to make some real HP with advanced timing on these engines.)
