The only one I can't really make a claim against would be helping the downtrodden because that's what they claim to do. Democratic representatives in southeastern Michigan are going through a hard time right now. So far, two highly thought of families (certain members) in the Democratic party in Michigan have been convicted of extortion, bribery, perjury, misuse of government property, affairs, among other corruption-related crimes.
Bernard Madoff was a democrat, although not a public servant. Anyone else find it ironic that his last name is Madoff?

I agree with you that both parties need to read it, learn from it and apply it to their lives, but the Dems don't flaunt their religion nearly to the extent that the Republicans do.
