Just out of curiousity... does anyone have an opinion of springs that are comfortable. I realize that all things are a compromise, but I'd like to keep as much ride comfort as possible.

I intend to put them with AGX's. Thanks.

Stock springs are the most comfortable.

OK, whoa. stop the boat. you want ride comfort, yet your going with what is, effectively a RACE shock. thats dumb. you'd be better off going with a slightly stiffer spring and softer dampner than running a soft spring and hard dampener like the AGX.

get some GR-2's and a set of NISMO springs. it will retain a lot of comfort and handle a bit better.

handling+ridecomfort=no go.

GR-2's suck ***, they're cheap for a reason, my friend had a set on his ol' super beetle and they blew within weeks. they're economy sport shocks.

on the other hand his b13 se-r has a set up of agx's and eibach sportlines, i'm not sure what setting he has the shocks on, but it's definitely not the softest setting. And it feels great. the ride is firm but it doesn't rattle your spine, even on potholes! it feels firm, how a sport car should feel. that's coming from a girl who cares about how a car rides, ok?

because the stock shocks in my s13 (that are on their way out) feel HORRIBLE!

yes they are race shocks, but, with FULL adjustibility, so you can cater it to how ever your a** likes it. heheheh. Get the agx's! I am! (http://www.shox.com will give you a good quote too)

well, if you already roed with the AGX, then you dont really want a soft ride, you want a "sport" ride, I would get an set of eibach progrssive springs, and you can get a package deal from most placed on them.

I wont be personally using AGX, I'll be getting Cusco coil overs or possibly Apex-I.-chet

also, exar-kun, he said " I realize that all things are a compromise, but I'd like to keep as much ride comfort as possible."

so therefore, i am telling him that that setup was comfortableto me, compared to my car's dying shocks and the setup on the se-r. It was actually more comfortable! That said, it's sporty yet comfy. as far as quality goes, my friend beats on his se-r extremely hard, drives it extremely fast, and over all kinds of crappy roads/holes/railroad tracks--living in the suburbs of Philly he put the shock/springs on the car last year and its one of the only things holding up like a champ while the engine is soon to die. i think that says a lot right there.

sure apexi and cusco coilovers will be better, but will be more $ and is even MORE of a racing type, and MORE of a compromise than the agx's will be. i'm planning on putting agx's on for the autocross season coming up.

eibach prokits mated to a good shock like a koniu yellow should be fine, if you want adjustbility, the AGX's will be good.

no, they are less of a compromise, more of true race setup, and I didnt recomend them for your friend, thats what I(me) will be running, I honestly dont give 2 cents about having a ton of comfort.

compromise as in comfort i meant

all in all, i give agx's a thumbs up! i heard good stuff about koni's as well. and i heard rather bad stuff about tokico.

i guess it all depends on what you want to do with the car as well
