So the wife and I went to the mud drags last night, even though it was freezing cold...but it was the first race of the year, so we figured we'd check out what everyone was running...Saw some cool rigs, one dude fried his front axle right at the end of the pit and had to be drug back out with a locked-up rear end and that made it a wonderful mess for everyone else..this dude with an 80-something C10 went through, 500ci big block, D60's, 38's...just huge. Got bogged down, but was still making headway. Just railin on it hard as hell, sawing the steering back and forth, back and forth, doing everything he could...spent a good 2, 2 1/2 minutes in the hole, crawling inch-by-inch. Finally crawled out of it, and, because it was pretty much dark, you could distinctly see his headers and his OIL PAN were glowing orange. I've seen headers light up, but never the pan. It was just nuts...he went on to run 2 more times before we left...I have no idea how that engine survived, but good lord, that was awesome....just thought I'd share....
