So I go to work today on Bay Bridge lower deck. Speed limit 50, going 60 or so. I'm in left most lane, next lane carlength from me some car (don't even remember the model) going 55, i'm slowly passing it. Suddenly out of 4th ! lane apears dude on bimmer going 70-ish with intension to pass 2nd lane car on my lane. Spot between my car and 2nd lane car shortens to maybe 3 feet, but bimmer dude doesn't see me !!! and goes for the spot. His mirror almost touches my mirror.I'm stepping on accel/honk just to evade the situation meanwhile preparin to get hit on the a** and counter steer. Check this, as this happens I see in rear view mirror dude dropping his phone and slowing down!!!

later on caught up with me, apologizing, than jumped there lanes right and disapered on entrance to 880.

it was i528 98-ish

None hurt but oh boy, my hands were shaking for good hour.

P.S. I need a turbo and two sets of those Hella horns from Don at PDM.

I recently got my first speeding ticket. cop had me on radar 72 , limit was 45. I Admited that i was speeding , said i thought i was going 65 and I needed to take friend to the airport (true). The guy was so nice that he quickly wrote me a ticket for 60 in 45 and I was back on my way in 2 mins. Not all cops are bad people, they are just doing their job.

Dude, i know what you mean. i drive to school every day. 1 hr drive from The Colony to Arlington. I go through some of the worst traffic and i have almost been run off the road a few times. just monday i was driving home and this guy in a jeep starts changing lanes while my nose isby his bumper, so i hit the brakes, change lanes and take off giving him a mean look. he then started speeding up after me and i guess thought i was trying to race. the dumb bastard did all he could to get infront of me and cut me off again.another time i was going down a lane to an exit ramp and this guy just started coming over while i was going. couldnt hit the brakes fast enough and had to swerve to get out of the way. scared the sh*t outta me.

Don't likem but at the same time i do. Never there when you need them but when you don't need them they are. To me at some aspect they have to much power. But yep just doing there job most part you will run into a bad one in your life eventually. I know i ran into an awsome one already. and i ran into a bad one already :(

Motop I feel you man. I was rolling down Sunset Blvd in San Francisco and I see in my rear view mirror a new black m3 and it zooms past me as I'm braking for the red. ******* couldn't stop in time passing through Judah towards Irving and ran a red and a pedestrian. Jerks.

Yeah I guess cops ain't too bad, meter maids though. Now those are the pricks. Damn mayhem on 3 wheels I tell ya.

I leave early for work, so I can enjoy the pleasant drive and take in some morning talk radio. I've usually read the paper during breakfast, but it's nice to tune in to the news radio, and maybe even Howard Stern from time to time.

Can't spend your life worrying about other people and how they drive... only be aware of them and stay clear if the pose a threat.

180fan,

Sunset district is notorious for street racing. I knew a guy who got killed in the accident on the intersection with Judah. He was a passenger and the driver of his car decided to race somebody so he didn't notice the stop sign and got slammed on the passenger side by a 30 tonn muni train. *** that was driving only got minor injuries. I hope he goes behind bars for a long time.

I'd like to say talking on the cell phone while driving is bad, but i do it as well. However, recently, I've switched to a handless set (the one with the earpiece and mic). Much more convenient since my car is manual transmission. I just clip it to the automatic seatbelt and put the phone in the ashtray. Yeah some people may think it looks queer but hey, its practical and makes my driving easier.

Wings, props for the hands free. In every other civilized country of the world, talking on the phone whil driving and not having hands-free set = ticket and a big one too.

I think should be the same here.

People should seriously use the handsfree thing. Even in an automatic transmission car, one hand with the phone means 50% less car control on the wheel. Plus, you have a much bigger blind spot for whichever side youre yakkin on the phone on, which might explain for MOTOP's near accident. Can't imagine a practical person not using the handsfree thing in a manual transmission car.

I also have noticed the Benz's and Beamer's either do not have turn signals or they break very easily. There is no other reason they would never signal, is there?

I love the handsfree set. Only problem is when you aren't expecting a call and its in your glove compartment... Then you get to play the I-can't-shift-well-and-am-constantly-looking-over-my-shoulder-like-a-paranoid-freak game.

It's illegal here in Ga, talking on a cell phone and driving I mean. It doesn't stop anyone though, almost every driver in ATL is on a cell phone, weaving in traffic. Irritates the **** outa me.:rant
