Good Morning Members,

For last couple of days since winter really picked up, every morning I start the car (2007 M35X) the breaks are just jammed :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: . I have to press the breaks couple of times to get it to normal. I do have a problem with ABS as infiniti dealership told me the front two sensors are broken. Could it be that its because of ABS not working, confused as what could be the issue. Please help if anyone else had that issue and how to fix it. :ohno:

I have had what could be the same issue the last few mornings as well. Car stutters a bit on acceleration as well for the first 100yds.

You know I've had the shuddering feeling from stopped to around 20mph then it goes away. I don't think this is from the brakes. I think more so with the rear subframe to axle bushings are shot. Logically it makes sense since the torque translated through the drivetrain and if the bushings are shot allows for greater than normal play with the rear diff which means the rear axles are also moving unnaturally. I mean there are U joints anyway but perhaps it's just vibration due to this twist. What do you guys think?

As for the OP there are pad retainer clips which are designed to assist with pad pressure relieve when the brakes aren't engaged. It could be broken or your sliders are jammed up. It could also be a small piece of something lodged in the lines which allows for braking to occur but not release. When was the last time you bled your brakes?

Thanks Msvara,

I don't think I ever did that since I bought the car... Maybe its time and get over all brakes checked. What do you say ?

Don't worry! It happened to me too, it was after I washed the car and parked it right away in the cold , therefore it allowed some rust and maybe ice to accumulate on the rotors and basically merging the brake pads with it. I'm sure that in your case it happened after some wet conditions or snow driving, and afterwards parked overnight (most probably cold), the snow or water melted and dried on the rotors building up some rust and ice. Nothing serious.

If it was rust on the rotors then it likely wouldn't accumulate on a daily basis as the OP indicated he drives every day. If I leave my car parked over the weekend then yes I feel the rust but it comes off after the first few brake applications and it never seizes up.

OP another thing I thought of if it were the ABS sensors your ABS light would be on and your speedometer would not be registering properly. Also, to clarify you said you have to press the brakes a couple of times to get it normal. Try to describe how the car drives from the time you turn it on (Does it make noises, feels hesitant, loose, etc) till it begins feeling normal and what are the differences that make you assume it's normal again?

One thing that happened to me about a year ago. We were driving for a very long time (2000Miles one way) and on the way back my rear began shuddering like I was driving on the shoulder with the wake up bumps. Turns out it was one of my rear brake calipers which had a small piece of dirt accumulated within the line itself. This allowed the calipers to compress due to the excessive pressure but did not allow the caliper to release quickly so the pads were in constant contact with the rotor, overheating the rotor to the point where it warped and hence the shuddering feeling. To fix this a tech had to remove the hose completely and blow it out with compressed air, then install a new caliper, both rotors, both pads and bleed the entire system. He used 2 cans of DOT4 to flush the system out completely. The brakes have been better than perfect ever since. At that time he also serviced the sliders and replaced the dust covers just in case. Depending on where you live servicing the brakes on a yearly basis may be a good idea if just to ensure the dust covers are okay and the sliders move smoothly.
