Hey,

So im interested in purchasing rims but dont have the money for em yet.I really want to take the car to the track, but with the stock turanzas ill probably get 10% of the engine power to the floor. (Exageration but i really hate them)

I wanted to know if i could strap on low profile tires to the original rims, would that look good? Would it work? If so, i think the only thing the rims need is a nice set of tires and less of a wheel well. Also, anyone know the weight of the stock rims?

Thanks!

No one have any ideas?

Does the low profile look come from the combination of Rim+tires or is it just the tire that makes it look low profile?

to keep the stock diameter with bigger wheels, you need to use lower profile tires otherwise your diameter will be too big. Bigger rims --> slimmer tires

Its possible to get low profile tires for the stock wheels, but then your speedometer, brakes, mileage, etc.. would cause problems.

So I recommend getting better tires if you still want to use stock wheels. It might be possible to do 235/50/17 but I am not sure if the wheels can handle that wide.

EDIT: Looks like 235/50/17 will fit. Then you can get those Nitto Neogen tires!

or

If you simply want low profile tires, I recommend getting the bigger wheel + tire combo.

i've been trying to figure that out forever! lol my friend is telling me to go with 18's cuz 19's will be too heavy and ill lose performance but i know there are light weight wheels out there so maybe i could find some 19's that weigh as much as our stock 17's (3.5se people). but in order to do that, i need to know how much our 17's weigh lol

The Oz's and Nismo are light weight but VERY heavy on the wallet.. which btw i lost this weekend and had 500$ spent on both my credit cards within the hour. Anywyas i wont get off topic but yeah. Nismo/OZ are too expensive for my income /savings.
