Alrighty Here is the dealits more like tire fitment. I did my pre lim research and found that 17x8 F and 17x9 R +35 ( all corners) would fit my stock bodied (unrolled un anything) S13, now my car does have coilovers, (stance GR + Pro ) and I bought a set of sportmax 006. With how my car is doing I need something in the way of wheels but I the budget didnt see much more than these. Now for Tires I am going to be running (well wanting to run) 235/40/17 F 255/40/17 R I am sitting kinda high on my coilovers because of the roads I drive and stretching tires around here pretty much garuntees death for the lip of the wheel (michigan pot holes are the size of a B13). So my question is will a 235/40 fit up front with some cambering and possibly some fendering lip beat down.

I dont believe what I'm seeing, yoko recommending a 245 on a 9"? LOL...

but yeah 235 / 255 is a weird staggar.

If you decide to get spacers for a flusher look (i.e. 20mm) a 215/ 225 really isnt that bad of a stretch really, even for harsh roads imo.

I think those sizes you stated would match bulge-wise. If you went with a 245 in the rear, a 215/45 would match aesthetically.I dont think camber would help as much as a spacer if you do stick with your original sizes.

in the front, 17x8 with a 215/40 fits right perfect flush with the fender no sunken in look or anything but just like everyone else said go with either a 235 or 245 on the rear and it will be fine.

yeah I was hearing that a 255 does understeer a bit.

I am going with Falken Azenies RT615's and they dont offer a 245/40 only a 245/45 which weighs more than the 255/40 and they also do not offer a 225/40 instead the previous situation repeats itself.

but in any case my intially stated setup will clear even with this rediculous FWD style offset of +35 on the 8's and 9's Really? I can post a pic of the car for ride height comparison

front is about 1 inch lower now Ill take a more recent pic tomorrow morning. Also this is by no means a setup for drifting more like lower powered autocross... and sweetness factor of meaty tires.

well im telling ya 215 will fit in the front so its just whatever you want to do in the rear though.. and do the falken Azenies come in 215? i just got Kumho ecstas on mine low price yet durable tire, and comes in a variety of sizes... i mean it all boils down to preferance and what other ppl tell you but i called like discount tire and was going to order some falkens but the guy told me more customers are happy with the kumhos, but also you said for a autocross so you might get better response out of the falkens but it all comes down to what you want, if we say they fit then you just do the brand model choosing but seriously listen to yoko he is way more knowledgable than me i know he helped me a bunch when choosing my wheel/tire setup but yea man.

Cam

Edit: yea and the sweetness factor, yea it is sweet to have meaty tires, but looking at the front, youd really have to either be turning or get down low to see the wide tires up front tho. If it were me i would prolly just go with since the azenies dont come in 225.. ( i think thats what you said) just F 215/40 R 235 or 245/40..

yeah good point the 215's will respond probably a ton better, we shall see whats in stock and what not, yeah I noticed Yoko does seem to know his stuff. I am looking here and they do offer a 215/45/17 maybe I can run that up front instead we will see what happens, I just now in the rear the smaller (diameter) I keep the tire overall the better I will be .

yea yokos right, cause youve already got a lopro look going so just stick with the 40 aspect ratio. Do you absolutely have to have the Falken tire brand or do you just want it cause its falken tires? cause i mean if all falken has is a 45 aspect ratio on a 215 tire then either find another simalar tire tread from a different brand or if the have a 225/40 just go with that..

Its more for the reason of it being price and the fact that they are rated the #1 Autocross street tire, and are 126 a tire for a 255/40/17 :-D

yea your the same way i was before i upgraded, i was worried to death about fitment but when the guys installed the wheels and i was like "are they rubbing?" and they were like no i felt much better and yea i suppose that since you got burnt out stock 195s that this is your first time upgrading wheels, youll notice a big diff on the ride which thats a given but with the coilovers ittl be even better.. but yea i was looking in another thread talking bout words to describe 240 owners and one was bandwagoning, IM NOT SAYING YOU ARE , but just do your own thing, if you have to give or take a little to get what you are wanting (i.e not buying falkens) then do that.. Youll be happy no matter what.. and yoko man i just put a new apexi N1 on and wwwooooowweee it sounds beastly a lot better over stock..

Get the single or the dual, I have the SSAC version of the Dual (temporarily will be getting a better exhaust someday....)?

Nice exhaust choice too btw.

yea i just got the single can, but the reason i love it is cause its deafining at a certain RPM and when i ride thru buford, (my hometown) the streets are so narrow that the sound just all groups in the middle and gets the store windows vibrating, i was gunna pay a guy like 100 or something to install it but i just jacked my car up myself and saved 100 bucks toward an intake im gunna buy. its not a new exhaust either its an older N1 but it came off of a car in japan then shipped over, i picked it up at a local Jdm shop that flys to japan and brings cars, engines, and random stuff back, but it dont even have the apexi logo on it, just says apexi and all where the flange and everything is.. Best thing about it is i didnt have to take out my aiv valve cause gwinnett (my county) isnt emission friendly so it should still pass, and it dont even sound like a fart at all just a low deep tone exhaust.. And i can tell a big difference, it killed my lowend torque but ittl run like a mofo at 5-6k rpms .

215/45 has the same sidewall as 235/40

on that note...theres your sizes

215/45 front, 235/40 rear

any wider tire would rub the coilover with that offset

you should get like 20-25mm front and 10-15mm rear spacers anyway though

well the wheels will be here tomorrow so I am just gona take and jack up one side of the car and throw one of each wheel on and see how the clearences are looking,.

I may end up having to go 225/40 and 235/40.

A friend of mine on the same wheel some how made a 255/45 to fit on the back of his car with only rolling his fenders and he about a good 1.5 - 2 inches lower than me. So we definately will see.

This (in my head right now but reality always seems to change my plans) is a good idea since on an 8 a 235 is pretty much level with the rim's lip and same goes for a 255.

I have gotten some may different reports on fitment between here, zilvia and well everywhere in the world. I am looking to be on the blury edge .

Really hrmm maybe a 215 F and a 235 R would be plenty enough tire then. how do you like the Kuhmo's I found those on tire rack on close out.
