Well I'm hearing alot of weird noises lately, and I'm just trying to diagnose them.
This one, that I'm troubled on right now, can best be heard at idle, when I am next to a building or something similar. (NOTE: I can really only hear it when I'm buy a building, cause the sound resonates better I'm guessing)
But anyways, the best I can describe it as, is a faint hiss/scrape noise. It happens alot, but it isn't in any sort of pattern or rhythem. sometimes there is a very brief pause in the noise, other times it lasts a few seconds.
When I rev the engine up it sounds as if the noise is getting way.. faster. If thats the right word. It gets louder and becomes a constant noise, but my exhaust also drowns it out, so I can't make an accurate assessment of the noise.
My engine is a ka24e..
I'm thinking maybe something belt related, but I would think it'd occur way more with the belt moving as fast as it does, and i think it'd be a set rhythem. This noise is just 'casual', its not all squeaky like a belt would be or anything.
Any help would be great. I'm off tomorrow so I plan on working on the car.
