Is there a way to upgrade the sound quility without changing the stock Bose speakers on a I30?

i dont think so unless you can figure a way to mabey wire in an equalizer but bose systems dont like it when you add or remove stuff

change the head unit!You can take lets say an ALPINE or what haveyou and run the speaker wire level wires out the radioand go DIRECTLY into the Input wires to the BOSE amp.Dont buy that line level adapter POS.It does work,dont pay any atttention to what installers say,it does work! 2002 Max with Bose.It IS louder. HAd my car for two days and HATED the Bose sound,the non bose sounds alot better.

Or option B.simply get an external amp tap it off the back speaker wires,the input output wire diagram is available ONLINE for FREE. Get a lets say 1000 watt or so amp and a nice box with 2 ,12 inch subs.

Either way its gonna be louder....

crutchfield is ok place to get correct stuff,kinda pricey.
