Gas Gauge: I never did take it to the deal about the "mindless" gauge. I guess I have gotten used to it. I know pretty much when I should get gas now. I drove it, ignoring the computer warning, until the needle was below the last red line. Put in 23 .9 gallons at that point. Since then I have started filling up when the warning shows up. Its really not an inconvenience, and I know I can go 350 miles on a tank if needed.
Gas Mileage: I thought I was going to be worried about this. All in all, I'm really not. Actually, I could care less. There are SO many good things about this vehicle, that I would gladly sacrifice higher mileage figures to keep them.
Phone: I picked up and BackSlide by Motorola and it works great with the BT interface. No issues like with the BackFlip.
NAV/CD/DVD/Ipod/Music Box: Wow, that is a mouth full! Nav system is great! Sounds like she has marbles in her mouth on some of the street names, but it has worked perfectly! Better than even my Garmin. The Voice commands are easy and I actually understand what its trying to do when routing. The Traffic, weather etc... are great. The weather alerts have come in handy a few times too.
The auto record to the Music box is nice but I'll never fill it up!
Ipod works great, even with my older version. I managed to BT my IPad to it. I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't display like the I pod does. But it does work. I have not tried a hard wire hook up with the Ipad yet. Really had no reason to at this point.
DVD is still confusing. I still have to randomly hit buttons on the remote to get the screens doing what I want them to do! I thought the front seat folks could listen to the radio while the rear seat used the head phones to listen to a movie. Is this possible? I haven't been able to figure it out yet. I don't mind listening to a movie, but there is only so much I can take!!!
I did hook up the Wii, and with the wireless sensor bar, it works great. My son will LOVE this when we travel!
So far this is a great truck/car/SUV/whatever. All the comfort and power I could ask for and more. Anyone driven on the Tail of the Dragon with one yet? I know, not really the right tool for the job, but I had to ask. I'm heading up that direction in a few weeks and simply LOVE to drive that road and HWY28. I bet I will be on tired SOB by the end of it though!!!!
One question for a vendor? maybe? Does anyone make a light bar/push bar (NOT a wrap around brush guard) for the new QX? I would love a small one that could mount a set of lights and maybe a winch? Not that I'm planning on going off road in it, I just have a use for a winch from time to time. (With the right pulleys mounted UNDER the truck, it can be used to pull various "things" *cough '55 chevy cough* onto a trailer or maybe pull a tree out of the middle of the road on a dark night? Don't ask!)
