1) Can I use a manual transmission from a 300zx?

2) Is there anyone that makes a 6-spd for the VG30DE?

Can't use the 300zx transmission in the I30 or any Maxima since it's a RWD transmission.

There aren't any 6 speeds for any VGs that I'm aware of. I'm pretty sure they'd be well known if there were any, since the 300zx transmission is a popular transmission for a lot of Nissan engine/transmission swaps. Remember that even if you managed to get a VG30DE to work sideways, you'd have to use a FWD transaxle with it.

The best option for a 6 speed manual on your I30 is to find a way to use the 5.5 gen+ 6 speeds from the I35/Maxima. They were designed for the transverse VQ.

I'm not sure if you're asking cuz your auto.. but if you plan on switching over to manual, just get the I30t transmission... its limited slip! Thats already a slight step ahead of the non locking diiferential trannies.

If you're really wanting to use a 6speed transmission, I would suggest buying a wrecked 2002-2004 Maxima/I35 and doing the complete swap (engine, transmission, ECU, etc.) more POWER, and 6speed!
