Well I went to pull my Z to Columbia but puller never freakin showed! So I check all the spark plugs. They looked good and I pulled the timing cover off partialy to see the belt actially looked really good however I noticed the belt was not sitting completely on the on the left side intake camshaft sprocket. Part of the belt was sitting on the back of the timing cover (the metal part that is attached to the engine). After I placed everything back together (plugs, air lines, vacum lines, radiator and tightened the timing belt cover. I made a few attempts to crank the car we could hear the belt like it was making the timing cover rattle and the car would just die out. I would crank again and would not stay crank. It even got to the point that the only way it would stay crank is if I got on the gas peddle and gave it gas. I do not know what to do. I always drove Hondas with dreams of owning Nissan and now I am like DAMN! I need your opinion. Please help! Thanks in advance!

How many miles on the motor? ........ and/or since the last belt change? If the belt is out of alignment with the pulley, but not broken, it's possible that you had a tensioner or idler pulley failure

id the timing belt is partially off there si some sort of problem, you need to pull the timing belt cover and find out why the best isn't on all the way and verify it is in correct time, if the belt is coming off, most likely someone damaged, lost or installed backwards the slinger on the crank pulley when they did the last belt, in any event you need to take it apart and fix it

How good a shape is the car in? I might be interested in buying as is. Also have a good engine I could sell you if you are up for that (big, expensive job)..(if the belt did break that is pretty much it for the engine since some of the valves will get personal w/the pistons)...good luck jt
