more s14 wiring questions!!

hi on my engine ahrness where it connects the start and alternator to the fuse box there a large black one that looks like it could ground it self. it look like the wire that goes to the back of the alternator but its not that one. would it go to the starter and what are the 4 plugs on the side of the fuse box for?
