Well, just did a compression test, the pass bank was all about 185, while the driver bank tested at 60, 32, and 120... Why no idea. Any one any ideas??? Also did the ptu update, it made a huge difference, but the low compression baffles me.

Also there is now a clunking from the tunnel by the seat. Thinking its the mid shaft bearing going kapoot

The fact that it's 2 cylinders next to each other would suggest a headgasket as a likely culprit. Add a squirt of oil to each cylinder then retest, if the compression raises significantly it's bearings, if not it's the HG or valves. When you pull the head you can inspect the gasket for signs of failure, turn the head over and fill the combustion chamber with a little gas and see if it leaks into the runners, if so you have a valve seat issue and if there is any doubt take the head to a machine shop.

That's what I'm thinking it might be considering the two are so close, also probably bent valves, as far as labor time goes, it's cheaper to drop in a resealed quality jdm engine with a new harness, I hear hope I can get my hands on a 94 so I don't have to buy more injectors lol, as for the clunking in the tunnel? Carrier or trans mount?

It is not cheaper to drop in a JDM engine. cost of a valve job on one head, about $200, cost of an JDM engine, $500 or more. If you are paying labor time to pull the head versus an engine swap the time is likely similar but that assumes the JDM engine goes in as is and does not have a smashed oil pan, broken egor or any other common jdm engine issue. I have not had good luck with JDM engine and unless you get one in a clip with the seedo it's miles unknown and anyone that says it's low miles either doesn't know what they are talking about or are lying to you. I'd mush rather get a salvage engine from the us where the miles are known.

I was factoring in the labor time yes, I was also planning on rebuilding the JDM block with a forged bottom end for the future addition of twins and make a high comp TT build, this car is my daily and half-assing is not an option cause I have heard the horror stories about the JDM swaps. I'm just fearing a warped head or block which is why I'm leaning more towards a fresh rebuilt JDM engine that's ready to eat up some tarmac
