the steering wheel shakes alot when driving and when going from 3rd gear to 4rd and at 3000 rpm the car shakes alot/ is this because my brake discs are damage or because I need new suspensions.thanks guys you are alot of help

if your problem is related to vehicle speed its more than likely in your wheel and tire assembly. possibly in the drivetrain.

if its related to engine speed its more likely in the engine.

if its gear specific then it may be tied to the transmission.

does this happen at a certain speed? if it does you might need an alignment...usually if the brakes are locked up it will pull the car to one side or the other...but not cause the wheel to shake...unless ur trying to stop and applying the brakes it will shake the wheel if the rotors are warped...check the tire air pressure...and tires for odd wear patterns...your drive shaft has a center bearing that might be going bad...but this will cause the whole car to buzz...hope this helps you locate ur problem....

I would suspect it is your tires or alighment. Cheap check is to rotate your tires, and see if the shaking changes/moves at all.

Can you imagen that I have the same problem and I had make lot of things like; alighment, new tires, new power steering, new pads & disc brakes and I still having the same problem of (wheel shake) this is getting me mad the last thing is the rack an pinion because I know isn't that good. Also one of my left front disc is like making a weird noise I know they are floating disc but it doesn't suppose to do that (they are new disc) so I don't know what is yet. When I get my vacations ill find out what it is with moreeeeeee time.
