More Problems. Need Help
My car has been down for a while. At first the ecu was giving me the code for the maf. So after waiting a week for my new maf to get here I installed it and to my surprise my car starts. I let it idle for like two minutes then it stalled. So I try to restart it and no luck. It turns and turns but won't start. So I check my ecu again and this time it gives me the code for the detonation sensor. Anyone here have any experience with their ca not running because of a bad detonation sensor? I'm tempted to just put my ka back in. Please help.

your Detonation sensor wouldn't cause the car not to start, your problem might be a power transistor module or or CAS(camshaft angle sensor), these are the most common problems on the CA18 engines that usually brakes down, your MAF even if it is bad, the car will still start, but it won't rev up, it will hesitate badly.
It seems to me that it could be a heat related issue, where I've seen it before, when the engine is cold the car will fire up and when it is worm or hot the car won't start and usually the problem is caused by the power transistor module.
try replacing the power transistor module and the CAS, but first check to see if you have a spark, if not, check your wiring from the engine to the ecu.
