Definately go with a known name...I've seen some of the off-brand "boxes" or "chips" taken apart and it's just a couple of resistors that send a different signal to the ECU, telling the computer the engine is running lean, so it dumps more fuel to it, but a couple of simple resistors can't possibly tell the computer to advance timing or anything actually benificial and you can wind up screwing up your emissions devices by throwing raw fuel at them....On the other hand, some are quite good, and actually do exactly what the manufacturer claims....I'd stick with Jet or Superchips, because they are well known....but on any of them, do your research and read actual user reviews....believe very little of what is thrown at you by the manufacturer and you can probably bet on about 1/2 the hp increase claimed.....just usually the way it is.....Just like my 1995 Suzuki RM 125 supposedly makes 40 HP (40HP???? From a 125? C'mon), directly from the Suzuki claim, yet Yamaha and Honda both claimed a more modest 30. But they're all 2 stroke 125s! Basically identical engines, except for maybe differnt carb manufacturers and their name on it.....It's all in how the seller swings it...Some people eat that **** up....Just do your research and buy smartly. Let us know what you wind up going with and how it works out!
