In an earlier thread, I asked about having ignition timing bumped on F50. My tech told me it's pre-set at the factory, and controlled by the ECU, no alteration possible. Some here said the same thing. But one member, I forget who now, said it can be done with a CONSULT II.

I talked again about this with my tech, actually supervisor now. He looked into it, and determined that it CAN be changed, but didn't know if the change would hold, or if the ECU would just re-set it.

Today while my car was in for other work, he bumped timing by 2 degrees and gave me the little adding machine tape readout from doing it. I asked for 2 or 3 degrees additional, whichever he felt comfortable with. He bumped it 2 degrees, I think from 12 to 14 degrees.

Early now, but I'll soon see if it helps power and fuel mileage. I expect it to.I don't expect a drastic change, just a little, so it'll take a while to be sure just how much it helps. But every little bit helps.

This posted so other F50 owners will know that it CAN be done.

As I am able to determine how much change I observe, I will of course, post the results here in a new thread
