Thanks for a great deal of help regarding my idle problems. As you know, I replaced iacv, mafs, o2 sensors. I just got it back from a shop where the guy relearned the tps for me. Only charged me $40 so that's fine. He said the tps is ok, but there's a possibility the ECU is shot. Now it's idling OK, BUT SHIFTING ERRATICLY! It kicks down at the wrong time, definitely not shifting properly. I don't mind springing for a new tps at this point. I still can't drive it, the trans slammed once I'm afraid the trans is going to blow.WHERE CAN I BUY A NEW ECU? How much is that gonna cost? I know a Nissan dealer has to do some kind of programming if I install a new ECU.Thanks if anybody has any ideas.

unplug your battery and let it sit a couple hours reconnect it and start it and drive around this will reset the ecu and might solve your problem.

Thanks Buddy.Sorry to be rude, just so frustrated. I just disconnected the battery, nothing to lose. I noticed the neg terminal was loose, maybe that was causing erratic shifting. I noticed the technician drasticly moved the tps position, but this must have been according to his scanner, I hope. I might take it to yet another service station that was recommended....

No, very clean. I was a charging system technician in the distant past. I'm an excellent mechanic. I've had a run of tough luck with this problem. Mostly involving Dealers and shops that either don't care, just want to rip me off, or don't know any more than I do.
