After changing rack bushings, and new springs/dampers, my steering wheel shows more turns to the left, about a 1/4 turns. How to fix this issue? Do you need to alter the tie rods lenght on both sides, or is there a rack center adjustment? What is "Kingpin"?

Ralph,

I assume this occurred after installing those S-Tunes? It's odd that you would see an alignment change with just replacing the rack bushings, but if you also replaced your shocks than I could definately see the need.

Chances are you will have to get a front end alignment. My car is on jackstands in the garage at the moment because I am installing S-Tunes, Energy Suspension 16 piece rear bushing kit, subframe spacers and new eccentric washers. Everything is finished except I'm waiting for the washers from British Columbia. With Thanksgiving, they won't be here until Tuesday!

Hard to believe that the only reason I'm not on the road is because of four washers! Anyway, I'll definately need a full four wheel alignment because of the bushing replacement, and my point was that you'll probably need one too!

Don't wear out your tires! Spend the cash and do everything right the first time.

Actually this is old than coils & bushings change, one of the struts was a little bend masking the defect, as it doesn´t affected tire wear I let it pass, but right now I want to fix it and do a good job. Also change control arms bushings and installed Energy Suspension rear subframe inserts. Not sure but there is an adjustement nut at the rack to move the whole assembly.

no, you will need to make adjustments to the tie rods to set the toe properly. this is a tricky procedure and while you could do it yourself you may find it worthwhile to just take it for an alignment. if you are really particular be sure to take it to a shop that has the newest hunter laser alignment machine and specify that you want to see the print out of before and after.
