I happpened to find some more info on what I beleive was a test car made by Infiniti to show to Magazines and other critics. Now everthing about that car is differ'nt from the belt buckle to the seat controls... So being that I was only 1 years old actually if that even I am no expert on the Q when it came out, and I doubt very much the Senior Infiniti Techs would study all the small features that make the car up.

So I am providing the magazine reviews on the car.

Looks like standard production 1990 model Q to me???? Maybe slightly tweaked in the engine power output department to obtain slightly faster acceleration test numbers, if anything?

There is so much differn't about that car that its hard to not be able to tell a differnce between a 90 Q45 and a "Beta" model Q45.

Here are some more pictures which you can zoom in.

Ahhhhhh Zoomed pictures make all the difference!!!! Notice the 6500 RPM redline......and the little lighted "bumps" indicating what gear the transmission is in on the console!!! Sure glad they dropped the small horn buttons and made the entire center portion of the steering wheel a horn "button" on the later Q. Much, much safer and easier to find, especially in a parking lot while the steering wheel is turned away from center position

Since the first production Q45 arrived in US in July and August 1989 for September launch. what you see in 1989 prototype is it.

As I remember they had 6 cars in US for testing from Dec 1988. By May 1989 they had 12 others for Launch Training of technicans. Remember they had 100 certified techs by July.

Why I use the term Best 1987 technology for my 1990.

Acrobat formatted scans would have been nice.

Amazing how well this 80's technology still works.
