Ha, Ha! That’s frickn funny! Seriously! [thanks for the links budy! i didnt find anything there- just saw your name all over?]

Like you I am very good at what I do. I just cant put it on paper all that well.A somewhat successful work history, in reverse... Construction: 3y from laborer to lead carpenter 6y total. Lathe & Mill operator for 3y. Engine machinist: 1y from valve buffer to running the cylinder head department, personally re-machining more than 3,5k cylinder heads of sorts annually with 2 or 3 returns in 13y, taking a $5.h job to more than $70k,an. in 3y. There is some proof of this around, someone did a complimentary 3-page write-up on me in a muscle car mag. And some paragraphs in different Hotrod mags. Its been a long time but I will try to find the articles if youd like.

Ps. There is no alter ego and I was a engine machinist, Rex Rich.

To all: I dont want to argue here. I didn’t expect that it would turn this way.

Like Ive said I respect the expertise on this forum that is the only reason I log in! Please respect my stupid questions?

you meant with in- 0.0005 [tenths of one thousanths of an inch]?

No, I think Ivory's right. If you need to resolve a value down to .0001", then your measurement tool needs to be more accurate than that. .00005" accuracy is close enough to round to the nearest .0001". .0005 just won't do when the bearings go to .0001.

Yo P usually I would defend a statement that you make but damn construction at the age of 10. Even if your dad owned the company that would still be considered "child labor"

I didn't log off my computer in my office one day when I went to lunch and one of my co-workers set the gay mechanics page as my home page. I had set his home page to gay golfers a week or so before, so I should have expected it.

I didn't say that I worked a construction job. I said that I have worked in construction for 7years. There's a big difference. I helped build three houses. When I say helped, I don't mean getting water for people. I done everything from pouring the foundation to putting the roof on. My specialty is electrical and communcations wireing. I am also a vary avid plumber, I'm good at dealing with crap .

In the carpentry field,, I have built the walls in two of the three houses. I've installed every kind of flooring that you could think of. I have roughed in all the electrical in two houses.

And all of the houses that I helped build are still standing. And guess what. All of the materials that we used were very cheap. I don't mean cheap quality, I mean cheap price. We spent $50k on materials, and we built a house that is worth over $300k. That's not including the land. So, this should give you guys a hint as to why I am so "cheap". I learned it from my parents .

All right, enough of your "extensive resume".

For crying out loud, dude - you're not even old enough to drink.

Stop already.

Thanks.

I think we're mostly marveling at a 14 year old in the back row of remedial math reading a Car Craft magazine and telling everyone how fast his Dad's car is.

I don't really care if you believe me or not. I would always start working on the house right after school and on the weekends. When it got dark, I would do school work. And yes, you could call me a wonder child. I am dead serious, I have done all the things that I have said.

I am what you would call a handy man. If something breaks, I can usually fix it.

This topic has gone on so long its time for the tech shop shrink to stop in!Either that or were just configuring the hierarchy? The good news is that we have proof weve thoroughly dried all the brains on this forum on how you are to add horsepower to the Q!
