My passenger side high beam does not work. I replaced the bulb and the switch. The high beam light on the dash does illuminate. Please tell me there is a simple fix outside of tracing wires.

Aloha,
Anthony

Check to see if you have 12v at the plug into the headlight. if not, then its to chasing wires. Alternatively. you could run a jumper from the driver to passenger since its on the same circuit anyways theoretically.

Thanks! That's a great idea with the jumper.

UPDATE: The jumper wire idea works... The only issue with it is it messes with something else. With it attached, when retracting the headlights, it is no longer a smooth transition to closed. It steps down to close in 3 to 4 steps. For that reason, I clipped the wire in the middle and will attach it when needed (to pass safety (Hawaii)). Other than that, I do have a new dashboard I will be installing it in the near future. Once I do this I will update if I find anything wrong with the wiring which I believe I may as I think it may be something with the combination meter and may (I think) also relate to the speedometer issue I'm having.

Weird, you wouldn't think the motor function would be tied tot he actual high beam bulb circuit.

It is

When your lights are down, and you hit the high beams, lights pop up, flash, then pop down

hi, i had a similar problem, my left light would not turn on in low beam but worked in high beam, and both lights went up and down at staggered times, the right one taking longer to retract, both went up just fine. after seeing all the talk about the light stalk i took my column panels apart and used about 2/3 of a can of electric parts cleaner in and around all the connections , into the base of the stalk arm,and even in that tight seem by the twist part on the stalk. believe it or not but the whole system works like new again, up/down togethor and fast, both lights on, high beams, and a quick high beam "brights flash" so worth a try even before you buy a new stalk cluster.
