We were one of the "lucky" households that were stuck filling out the American Community Survey. Sent out by the Census Bureau, it was made against the law by Congress not to fill it out.

The entire purpose of this survey is to promote racial and ethnic discrimination in the future distribution of money by government programs. The entire thing is an intrusion into our lives that is 100% government supported.

I will not be surprised to hear that in the near future there will be a whole lot of identity theft and fraud as a result of government mismangement of the information collected, either.

It will be used by the current Administration to change things around a bit to help keep Dems in office and redistribute funds the way they want to. Both sides do it but this is the first time the White House has been directly involved it seems.

Send it to me and it'll go straight in the shredder.

For a country that's supposed to be color-blind, the Administration is awfully interested in who looks like what...

Why?

This survey is simply used to figure out when the minority becomes the majority. Thats what we're all concerned about.

Read the questions on it. It is not simply to do what you describe. If it were, they wouldn't be asking me to classify myself as one or the other when I'm 50% Spanish. If they only wanted to know minority/majority, they wouldn't be asking what my mortgage payment is or how many toilets I have on the same questionnaire as the one where they ask ethnicity.

They try to justify each question here

http://www.census.gov/acs/www/...t.htm

but it still comes down to how the gov't can segregate and seperate people instead of just counting them all as human beings or American citizens. Whether I have a toilet or not should not be a factor of my ethnicity but it will continue to be as long as the government continues to promote it that way. Continue to seperate and segregate and people will continue to look at their ethnic group first because that's what their government is doing. As a country we need to get away from seeing every little thing in terms of skin color.

Plus, refusing to fill it out should not be punishable by federal law. If I want to give them that information, fine. But I shouldn't be FORCED to do it. It is an invasion of my privacy.

Steve, we don't always agree - But in this instance, your last post is SPOT-ON.

This is a blatant and bold-faced maneuver further into the "redistribution of wealth" strategy of the left.

If I am White, and I have 3 toilets and nine cars (which I do), I'm gonna be lumped in with the "rich"... Yet I have never cleared a six-figure income.

These are scary times, and the fact that refusing to fill it out is punishable by federal law should TERRIFY any freedom-loving American.

WHERE is the left on this invasion of privacy?

If this had been an unlawful search, the lefty lawyers would be up in arms.

HYPOCRITES. All of them.

It's only unlawful when it's not within their wishes.

All I want to know is why the left isn't up in arms about this.

Apparently the ACLU is ok with it as well.

Hmmmmm....

ACLU probably sees it as a way to get more of a political shift in order to obtain greater power.
