grrererseklfjasdopfg!!!!

ok so i assembled all teh s.s. lines tightned up everything. put the key in the ignition , turn the car to on position, and guess what?

FUEL ALL OVER THE RAIL!!!!

The freaking fuel is squirting from the top of my fuel rail! why? i wana drive my damm car....

ok some one please help. does any one know a correct way to install top feed msd 52lb injectors on a top feed fuel rail.

i first placed the injectors in the runner, then the rail on top of the injector, then i tightened down the rail.

the rail has a adj for the rail hight, right now its at the highest point. should i adj, it so its at the lower point and then tighten down the rail to put more pressure on the injector?

my three theories why i have fuel all over my garage:1.- rail is missed allinged with the top of the injectors2-rail is not tight enough on the top of injector3- o-ring on the top of the injector is broke/to small..

please excuse my typing its been a long day

I am guessing the orings. Did you lube them up before you put them in?

(I dont know how to install topfeed injectors)

What fuel rail are you running the injectors to? Sounds like it could be a combination of issues you've already pointed out. I was having some fuel leakage issues with mine too, replaced the o-rings and made sure the fuel rail was torqued tight enough.

ok, a few questions....1. did you make the fuel rail yourself? - if or if not, do you know what dimension the oring holes are?2. how hard was it to fit the orings into the rail...easy or difficult?

I am using the msd 72 lb injectors with a custom rail. in my case i had to actually open the holes up a little and i called msd for the recommended hole size (which i cant find at the moment but i will). what i do remember is that it was pretty difficult to get the injectors into the rail, well not difficult but lube was necessary or they would not go in. in other words, it should be a pretty snug fit. The amount of torque you put on the bolts probably will not help much since the sealing surface is created by the oring diameter and not the bolt torque. one other thing to mention is I think i removed the top oring from the msd injector and installed the bottom one in its position, then fitted the bottom of the injector into the stock ka rubber pads without any oring (at the bottom). This worked perfectly for me....no leaks. I believe that the bottom oring diameter is slightly larger then the top one. lemme know if this helps......hope so!!

the injectors does go in pertty snug. you have to put some force for it to fit into the rail but once its in the rail it has a little place, i think its not placed on the rail properlly, is their any way i can get a bigger o-ring form msd to make up the spacing

well to answer your question, Im not sure. what you can do is call MSD and find out if they offer diff oring sizes. your other option is to mic the holes in the rail and just purchase an oring that will fit. you can probably source orings at any plumbing store. i know harbor freight sells a whole oring kit. not sure if there are any harbor freights in ny, but you can always check online. bottom line, in order for the fuel to leak.....some clearance is too large, otherwise it would just go to the return line.
