My car is a 1992 Nissan 240sx and part of the wiring harness caught on fire at the coil. About 6" of it burnt up and i rewired it. My will not start. Its getting fuel but not any spark. The reason for this I believe is because of some sort of resistor that was mounted on the wiring harness. On the wires running into the coil and power transistor, there is a small black resistor or something else that is mounted directly on the wiring harness. That is what burnt up in the fire and i cannot find it anywhere. Dealerships have no idea what i am talking about when I call. Does anyone know what this part is and can I get it without buying a whole new harness.

unless you can find the value for the resistor somewhere, you're gonna need to get another harness. that part of the harness is not replaceable either, so it sucks that you can't just disconnect that part and order a new one.
