More door lock questions

Just bought a 1993 J30. I don't have a remote yet. When the last door is closed with the car running the doors lock then unlock quickly. If you turn the car off and get out of the car and leave the doors unlocked, when you return a few minutes later the alarm goes off.(horn honks) Is it the door latch or the door lock timer causing the problems? I ordered a remote off ebay and will program it following the directions on the forum.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think it is the acuator because they do function then the button is used. I think it must be the timer. Do the doors on the J lock themselves at any point? I thought maybe they were suposed to lock when I shut the last door for saftey.

The J's doors aren't self locking like VW's, Audi's and Saabs. You need to prompt the lock to lock 'em or unlock 'em.
