For most of you guys that just want 300hp, then you need not apply; unless you're after the bling-bling effect. Custom plenums costs, in some cases, more than your motorset. Will I pay the amount I paid to have this one made again, "Hell no". I see some of the prices these guys are offereing and they aren't that bad for what they are. If you're a a cheapy-cheapo, in college, eating ramen soup for breakfast, lunch and dinner, then you don't want to be toying with this stuff because in most cases, other modifications will be necessary to make custom plenums useable on your application. I've posted these before, but most of you are pretty new here and have never seen them. They are for the FWD/AWD CA18 application. It will be impregnated with 96 lb/hr injectors as well as being currently fitted with a 75mm T-body which is heavily modified for my application. Ports are heavily ported and match with the diameter of the head's ports by myself. Dollar amount is high, so don't ask . But then again, you get what you pay for and in this case, I knew exactly what I was getting into.

Sheesh, I could see how that could cost quite a bit! It looks very well made.

here is another plenum, for a 400hp car, it is said to add 40hp to the car...if the calculations where correct. But it also makes the car weaker in high rew. due to long pipes leading to the plenum.

but it looks werry good!

it wont hurt your top end, it just wont have as much compared to a short runner design.

What was the exact cost of it?

I will quote it for you

I make intake and exhaust manifolds, I see no facts in this thread. Just showing off parts.

Great intake, but no good info out of this thread.

Dee, why did you go with a 75mm TB? What are the runner length and size?

runner size is standard, and by the looks of it length is about 100mm from the base.

I'm curious to know, what part of that could you have possibly missed? Seriously man, do you like to hunt around forums searching for technicalities or something? What have you contributed to this CA group since becoming a member of NICO? That's right, NADA! You've been in more heated discussions than most members will ever be and you're still pretty new around here.

So today I caution you to relax your brain and not let your arrogant thoughts bleed from your brain to your fingers onto your keyboard and then onto this forum. We don't need that type of behavior here man and I along with the rest of the moderator team will not tolerate it. We really want to make this place an environment whereas people can learn from each other and not have to worry spoilers like you.

Either be a positive contributor to this group or go find something better to do with your spare time .

Those are the facts! No technical nothing, just straight up telling these folks like it is. No need to waste money if it's not necessary!

LOMA, the Long runner intake is insane, I am trying to imaging having that thing installed on my FWD Ca18det, I think I have to cut the firewall and remove my dash in order to make some room for it lol. just try to picture it, it would be funny.

Dee, your intake man, looks sweet, I am pretty sure it is up to the job if not more, job well done dude, pretty sure you put some serious time in that thing.

Hey Rafi, we've been at this waaayy too long to keep half-stepping. I do wish I had half the cash back I've dumped into this sport over the years. I'd definitely be debt-free . And definitely thanks for the compliments. Coming from you, it's an honor.

Hi Dee,

I know what you mean about the $$, I am like you addicted to these engines, I just picked up a RWD CA18det and transmission, don't ask me why, saw it, had to bring it back with me lol, leak down results are as good as new.So what I did, is removed my spare tire from my winter beater pulsar (ca16de), put it in my front seat, put my back seat down then put the transmission there, drove for 2 hours with the engine and the transmission in the back of the pulsar, I sware my front end was almost of the ground, my muffler was hitting the road every time I hit the a bump lol.I also and finally found myself a T28 BB, wow, what a fricking turbo, the housing on it, is almost twice the size of a regular T25 turbo.

So I am pretty dam happy.

Why do you think they are not worth it? Why did you say 300? why not 400? What experience do you have with them and what did you learn? Thats all I ask.

so dee,i spose you dont know the difference in a back to back test between near standard and the fully modified one you have?

or have you had it on the flow bench?

No bench tests done whatsoever. Everything is done off experience with diameter of piping on different CA experiments. Too big of a T-body is useless. Too wide of a diameter on piping didn't yield much difference at lower rpms. Smaller pipes yield the biggest changes and that's where the design and the selection of certain parts for me came from.

Not really! I don't know what people paid for their cars, but I do what works for me and in this case, it will be cool to see the results. I've been pretty spot on so far, so I'll take my chances with wah I've alrready spent my money on. And besides, the major attention has been directed on the engine and trust me, that definitely cost more than a few people's cars.

since you are "boost boy" no will will question why you wouldn't flow test it. but why wouldn't you get it flow tested which the cost is minimal when you have spent so much money on the engine.

i would be just a nice thing to know and have in the back of your mind that it may not cause any probs? just my thoughts that's all.

a lot of people claim to be experts, of which i dont, but results on paper speak louder than words.

Since I don't weld, I don't fabricate, and am not in the market to sell intake plenums, I am not worried about the construction of my plenum. It's a custom/ one-off piece that was given the attention to accomodate my engine's mods and specs, so I feel in my mind and mechanical knowledge that it will suit me just fine.

I look at it like this, the thing is heavily port-matched by myself, meticulously assembled by one of the more credible welders in my area and designed with a few of my own personal desires in mind. The same meticulous detail put into this manifold happily flows turbocharged air to a few 550-632whp KA24DE-t S13s that I personally have either driven or have watched in action. So you can flow your plenums for production sake, mine is just fine the way it is "unflowed" and ready to serve me.
