More competiton for the Rogue - 2012 VW Tiguan

VW released photos of the new 2012 Tiguan. It appears it's just a model refresh so far, not a completely new vehicle.

I've only found information on VW's German site so far:

I liked the Tiguan, and I liked the 200hp turbo, but you're going to drop a bit more coin on a comparable Tiguan than you will on the Rogue. That is unless VW continues their price cutting game like they did on the Jetta and Passat.

VW's have never been cheap to buy. A Tiguan commands a $4-$6K premium over a Rogue in Canada.

I like the looks of the refreshed Tig (and yes, it's a refresh...not a whole new vehicle), but in order to hook me, they'd have to do a special loaded version with a manual 6 and bring back the cool blue instrumentation. In other words, a limited edition sports model.

Unfortunately, VW has long gone out of touch with their core followers, thus the reason this one became a Nissan guy.
