Jumped into the car to start it this morning and it was like sitting on a piece of plywood -- it was so cold overnight that the foam in the seat became somewhat solid! A couple of minutes of "warming" did a little; driving and body heat did the rest.

A couple of days of -35° temps [°F or °C doesn't matter -- cold is cold!] and I'm tired of it -- my condolences to those who live "west" and have had the deep freeze for a while [I remember my days on the prairies, and and glad to be here!]

btw, the hard seats have been my only "complaint" -- no starting or windshield washer problems, though it does take a while for the thing to warm up. Then again, it gets lots of chance to -- my 10 minute drive to my office now takes 45 minutes due to our bus strike. Just glad I don't work downtown!

Yea, it's freakin' cold down here in Tampa. It got down to 35F last night! And it is suppose to go down to 30F tonight! burrrrrr. heh heh.

I feel for you guys...I really do. But then again, we have to put up with extreme heat and humidity during the summer so it is give and take.

OH JEEZ 35°F wow damn I wish that weather would come to Minnesota, we would call that a heat wave, would have to break out my sandals tank top and hell maybe my swimsuit for a little kitty pool in my driveway

Today I woke up to -25°F (notice the negative) -47°F windchill Now THAT IS COLD. Frostbite 5 minutes. Versa to heat up 50 minutes to get rid of the blue light.

It was -41 degrees Celsius this morning here in the eastern townships Quebec.

The ****ty versa did not start, even with the block heater. LOL What a ****ty car this is. Brand new too, just has 9000 km.

I hopped in the old Z24 with 131 000 km with original spark plugs and started like a charm. No block heater and car did not move for 3 days.

Go GM!!!!!

Standard in Canada . . . passenger side, tucked up behind the grille.

I agree about the seats it was like sitting on a wooden park bench this morning. GOD I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING FOR THAT ENGINE BLOCK HEATER!! Jeez I understand Nissan changing the Versa country to country but I wish the Northern part of the U.S would get the canadian version or something warmer. I don't know thats just me complaining.

you can install a block heater your self, it's not too hard. Go to your local parts store and pick one up - they come with install instructions.

a better [maybe "other" is a more appropriate word] option is a circulating heater. it goes in the rad hose [make sure to install it the right way!] and warms and circulates the coolant. Put one in a 60 Fairlaine -- immediate starts, and quick warmups.

I know compared to all the super Northerners, this is nothing, but here in NY today it was 9F this morning with windchill down to -10F. Car stated right up, blue light went off after 5 minutes and the heat was nice and hot! Only thing is, my TPMS light is on. Is this normal in this cold weather? I checked the tire pressure after driving for 45 mins and it was @30PSI. I guess Ill fill them up to about 40PSI and see if it goes off.

Everytime there is a cold snap my TPMS light goes on. It goes back off when it warms back up. Mine is on right now. I just ignore it.

You think 40 F is cold, but that's not cold, it's just a bit chilly. You're not used to that much of a temperature change. Anything below 20 F is considered cold where I'm from and it hardly gets cold like that during the day unless it's going to snow.

Yeah man,I baby this car like a BMW. I don't know what is wrong with this car. The car is six months old and got more car-related problems in six months than in the last ten years.

Check your tire pressure - if the temperature changes in Florida is enough to set off the TPMS... your tires might be at the lower end of proper inflation.

My blue light does not go off for a good 10 to 15 minutes .. and it has been about -27 C when I leave for work .. damn freaking cold !!!

Windshield wiper fluid is pretty frozen LOL and takes FOREVER for windows to clear up and the defrost is just as slow.

And MAN! did she smell like gas (outside of the car) when I arrived at work .. never had that before either !! And the old fan belt did a good little "wheeeeeeeeeee" this morning too .. freaked my 14 year old out LOL

My 20 to 30 minute commute to work feels like an eternity in a freaking frozen car .. she starts to warm up about 15 mins into the ride .. UGH

My trip to Nissan will not be too soon on Tuesday (had to postpone this week's appt)

Lovely weather - NOT!

Not sure if I want to get a remote starter or just start plugging in the block heater .. hmmm ..

The last few days have been really cold here (getting to about -50F/ -47C), and I haven't had any problems. I usually have my car plugged in, but I've had it unplugged while I'm at the university for 3-4 hours, and it's fine. I've also never noticed the seats getting hard.

I guess "cold" is all relative.

Gotta tell you, SS, I sure don't miss those Winnipeg winters! Nor does my wife!

She was driving home one night from EK to Fort Garry [in our 80 Dodge Omni -- you want a horror of a car, boys? bought it near-new for $6,000, put $4,000 work into it to keep it running (every time thinking "that's gotta be it now -- it never was), sold it after 2 years for $2,000 just to be rid of it -- while in university with two small children no less!] when her door flew open [it had frozen closed and to get into the car after work she'd had to crawl through the hatch!]. Down Lagimodiere Blvd to Bishop Grandin to Pembina Hiway, holding the door closed with one hand and driving and switching gears with the other . . . at -30C!

She was not a happy camper when she got home . . . I don't remember much about the evening but I think that it was warmer outside than it was to be near her!
