I drove a Mustang GT convertible after work yesterday, with the premium package, blue with the white leather interior.

I was not really impressed. My 5 year old Q45 with almost 96,000 miles feels better put together than this thing. A lot more cowl shake than the Miata (the other car we own), and it shimmied a fair amount. At speed, it felt really dicey as I passed 60 mph, totally unlike the Q underway which gives you much more confidence. The suspension seemed unsettled and the engine was loud under harsh acceleration. Much ado about nothing, I'm afraid. It did not feel all that fast, either, although I am sure it is faster than my car. I guess I am spoiled.

Since my brother works for Ford, I went ahead and took a look at the X plan price: Sticker was over $30,000. Sale price to me: $25,000 and change.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

PS: Did I say I was spoiled? For those of us Q45 owners, do we realize just how good we have it?

And how much is it to buy your Q45 off lease? Less than $25K I bet, including extended warranty.

Last mustang I drove (rental) had to switch to a sable because rear fold down seat could not be made to stop rattling. All the other faults were there too, and it was a fastback.

Stock Mustang GT's are not impressive at all. If the one you drove was an automatic it was downright anemic. I run at Gainesville all the time and watch Coupe, 5 spd GT's run in the low 15's and high 14's all night. An auto conv would be lucky to get in the 15's.I had to rent one a year or so ago and drive it from Macon Georgia to Jax and it was just aweful. It was uncomfortable and made more noise than a skeleton dancing on a tin roof.
