alright, so i went to change my plugs the other day, i unplugged the coil packs from the harness, unbolted them from the plenum, and slid them out of the motor. worked well for the first 4. then, on the 5th, the thing just TORE. completely in half. and the bottom half was pretty well sealed to the motor(had to pry it off with needle nose pliers). that's the second coil pack on this cylinder that has ripped in less than 3 months. whats going on here?? I'm so lost. also, any ideas on where i can get a NEW coil pack? z1 only has used from what i can see. (a link would work well.) thanks in advance guys.

Good used ones are just fine to use too. Contact www.yugobernie.com and you can save some loot on good used ones.

Use dielectric grease on the plugs when reinstalling the coil pack and they'll come off easier next time

it wasnt the plug that it got stuck on. it was the tube the coil packs sit on. it like vacuumed itself on there..

You mean the part that connects to the top of the plug? the CPs don't sit on any tubes, so I'm confused what you mean.

yea. the boot. it completely ripped the rubber and the rest of the coil was sealed onto the motor. i had to pry it off with needle noses.

So the part circled ripped off?

What I'm saying is next time put some dielectric grease up the red arrow hole so that it pops off the plug easier.

When I remove mine, I hook one finger on either side of the ribbed part near the top of the pack and gently ease it out. I broke one once before, and it was an expensive lesson.

No. The top of it snapped off and the ribbed part was sealed to the motor and had to be pulled off with pliers.
