Has anyone tried to replace the tweeters in the A-pillar of the 1997 J30?If so, how easy/difficult are they to get at?

If I replaced the door speakers with coaxial (instead of component speakers), what kind of re-wiring would I have to do so the new door tweeters work? Where is the crossover located?

And for the rear speakers: are the original Bose speakers actually subwoofers, or are they the same as the front speakers? Is a seperate bass signal sent to them?

Lastly, what are the speaker sizes on the 1997 J? I've seen anything from 4" to 5x7 for the front. What's the maximum size without modification, and what's the maximum depth?

Thanks!

I just had mine replaced. I went with 6 inch in the front doors, 4 inch was too small, or so Best Buy says. I got 6 x 9's in the back, and then a 12 inch sub in the trunk, sound is awesome

The tweeters are pretty easy to get too, all you have to do is pop the pillars off.

And the sizes are 6x9 in the back, 4 inch mid in the door and either 3/4 or 1 inch tweeter in the a pillar.
